TIMES SINGAPORE, JAKARTA – Pakar kuliner nusantara dari Fakultas Teknologi Pertanian (FTP) UGM, Dwi Larasatie Nur Fibri, a culinary expert of Agricultural Facukty of UGM said that Indonesia has lots of kind of fried rice. It diverse from one place to another.
"At least there are 104 kinds of fried rice you could find in the country. 36 of them could be trace the authenticity and 56 of them were fusion Fried rice which we couldn't find where it's originally from," as Dwi said at UGM website on Saturday (17/7/2021).
Dwi also said that nasi goreng or Fried rice has become one iconic Indonesian dishes beside rendang, Sate, Soto, and gado-gado. This dish is a common thing you could find anywhere in the country.
People loves it for the authentic taste. Not only the locals the foreigner will long for the Fried Rice whenever they come to Indonesia. People from all age will like it for the taste is very universal, savory yet exotic.
Nasi goreng or Fried use to be a way to serve leftover rice in a another way. "The variant will make people more curious about it. They will feel like to try each of them and find which one the best that suit their taste," Dwi added.
Dewi said that Fried Rice is one solution to reduce the food waste while some country suffer from hunger. Fried Rice ingredients could also be adjusted to your taste, the ingredients, or you could add all leftover food in it. So simple yet tasty. (*)
